About Me

Welcome to my site! I hope that you enjoy browsing as much as I enjoy putting together my collection of treasures and goodies!
In my Etsy shop you will find a mix of items which I think reflect my interests!

I've always had a love of history and all things vintage, both in the home and in the garden. I love to turn what some people might class as junk, into something useful and unique! I love to rummage around antique fairs, flea markets and car boot sales, when time allows.

My love of books began almost as soon as I was born and I am always happy should I find a good second hand bookshop on my travels. My favourite books can be found on my blog.

I enjoy all sorts of arts and crafts - crochet, embroidery, sewing, scrap booking etc. I love to use good quality materials in my projects, in particular vintage, shabby chic and retro designs.  I always try to find fabrics, papers etc that are that little bit 'different'. I think that I have a keen eye for colour and I enjoy putting together coordinating patchwork packs for my shop. Having run an ebay fabric shop for 8 years, amongst my favourites are the designs of Rachel Ashwell, Cath Kidston, Amy Butler, Heather Bailey, Anna Marie Horner. I can source fabrics for customers for a wide variety of projects: Curtains ; Cushions; Bags ; Trendy Belts; Door hangers; Clothes; Deckchairs ; Fabric pictures; and so much more. (Showing just how versatile fabric can be ! )

Scrap booking is another of my interests. I enjoy making pages for scrapbook/photograph albums, as well as paper bag albums. These make lovely, affordable, unique gifts. They are OOAK (One Of A Kind). If you need pages or an album for a particular theme, then please ask and I will do my best to oblige. The gallery of images that you will see is just a 'taster' to give you an idea of my work. I will do my best to help you commemorate that special occasion for the loved ones in your life. Similarly, I make altered clipboards and altered lunch tins...all OOAK.

I live and work in a small Devon village, where peace reigns and I am surrounded with the most beautiful wildlife. My ideal day would be spent in my garden with my copy of Country Living by my side and a good book by the other, whilst the Woodpeckers, Nuthatches and our resident Pheasant, get on with their daily work. I love my garden and my greenhouse gives me the chance to raise many of my own plants from seed. My favourites are lavenders, foxgloves, hollyhocks, penstemons, verbascums and herbs.

Anyone who knows me well, will know that I have a love for the most beautiful city of Exeter and as it is just 18 minutes on a fast train, I get the chance to visit frequently! Totnes, Ashburton and Topsham share second spot!

During my daytime I can escape into my garden or into the past with my lovely interests. During the evening, I teach English to children of all ages.

I hope that you enjoy looking around my site! Please check back often as I add new items, regularly.

Sal ;-)
